38 And Saul put his raiment upon David, and put an helmet of brass upon his head, and put a brigandine upon him.
39 Then girded David his sword upon his raiment, and [a]began to go: for he never proved it: and David said unto Saul, I can not go with these: for I am not accustomed. Wherefore David put them off him.
40 Then took he his [b]staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of a brook, and put them in his shepherd’s bag or scrip, and his sling was in his hand, and he drew near to the Philistine.
